Policies

The School of Meteorology Computer Use Policies

This document contains the computer use polices as currently adopted for use in the School of Meteorology (SoM). These policies are important to protect both the computer systems and the users. Abuse of these policies can result in the loss of priviledges on SoM computer equipment. It is the responsiblity of othe user to familarize themselves with these policies.

Section 1 contains the Acceptable Use Statement that is a part of the SoM workstation request form. This statement must be signed as a part of the requirement requesting an account before a user is issued an account. The account request form can be found here.

Section 2 contains a part of Chapter One from the Guide to Using Computer Resources at the OU School of Meteorology. This guide is available as well at the SoM website. This portion of the guide tells the reader/user the types and locations of the SoM computing resources. It also reflects a more general user policy regarding the priorities of use of the SoM computing resources.
