The Glidersonde Meteorological Package is a significant upgrade to the standard radiosonde sensors. The GMP was designed to fly in the Glidersonde, a returnable, reusable sounding system. The meteorolgical sensors for the GMP are identical to those of the Vaisala RS-80 radiosonde that is in worldwide use.

The GMP allows the user to collect data without the need for a costly ground station. Data is stored onboard and is retrieved upon return of the Glidersonde. An optional telemetry system is available for use with the GMP.
