I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1990, then moved to Lafayette, Louisiana in 1992. I
consider Lafayette my hometown. Weather has been an interest of mine since I was about four years old (I would
actually watch The Weather Channel on Saturday mornings instead of cartoons). I graduated from Comeaux High
School in Lafayette in May of 2008. For my freshman year of college, I attended Louisiana State University in
Baton Rouge where I completed nine hours of Calculus, four hours of physics, and various general education
requirements. I transferred to the University of Oklahoma in Norman for the fall of 2009 and anticipate
graduation in May of 2012. During my time at the University of Oklahoma, I have been active in the Oklahoma
University Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (OUSCAMS) and the student forecasting
organization known as Oklahoma Weather Lab (OWL). In the spring of 2010, I was appointed to the National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration's Ernest Hollings Scholarship program. In this program, I completed a research
project at the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office in Charleston, South Carolina that involved
developing hail detection criteria for summertime pulse thunderstorms. Since June of 2010, I have been working at the
Radar Operations Center Applications Branch in Norman. While working here, I have written scripts in MATLAB as well
as Python, and examined radar data from the dual-polarimetric radar beta tests. I plan on attending graduate school
where I would like to do research on tropical cyclones. After school, my goal is to work in operational meteorology
(my ultimate dream job would be to work as a hurricane specialist at the National Hurricane Center). My hobbies
include computers, listening to music, college football, and major league baseball.
