It appears that interesting weather could be found in the 4 corners region and on into the central plains with the vortmax that comes in off the southern California coast and into the 4 corners at the end of the model run. There's a steep height gradient from the 4 corners to the Texas panhandle. The same goes for South Dakota to Kansas City. So it appears as if the trough will be digging toward the Kansas region with the falling heights ahead of it.
