ISSUED: 745 am CDT Fri 13 June Status: STANDBY for an update around 2:30pm. Yesterday was a bust in Oklahoma, as the outflow from the morning MCS kept diving southwestward out of the JPOLE domain, leaving the atmosphere too stable for thunderstorms. Today's forecast problem is similar. The convection now moving through Norman has left behind a lot of worked-over air in Southwest Oklahoma. We will standby for one last chase in the event the air mass is able to destabilize this afternoon. If it were to do so, conditions would be favorable for severe thunderstorms as a shortwave trough approaches. Today is the last day of the JPOLE intensive observation period. Thanks very much for the hard work of all of you who helped! -Kevin
