Wow, not a post this past term...

so I will update with a new look. I am hoping that I can post more often now that RapidWeaver is now got a functioning sftp upload. One of the issues I had with the previous version was that I could not get sftp to work. So it is now much easier to make changes and publish the updates.

We have now finished our first full academic term in the National Weather Center (NWC) and are one month away from our first year anniversary. There are still many issues to work out with the new building, but all in all I would classify the year as a success. Major summer projects include installation and making operational the ceiliometer, an instrument for measuring cloud base heights. Also on the docket are preparations for a regional Unidata workshop featuring the Integrated Data Viewer (IDV). There are also major upgrades in software for the Linux lab. The School of Meteorology will be working on a revamp of the current web page. We will see how that goes over the course of the summer.

I am excited for the opportunity to again take part in the Apple Distinguished Educator Workshop to be held in during the last week of July in Monterey, CA. I am part of the Class of 2005 and am returning as an alumni participant. I was so charged up when I retuned from my last workshop and am very much looking forward to recharging the batteries again this year. I will be sure to talk more about the workshop when the time comes.
