Lab Assignment 11
April 2, 2004
Due: April 9, 2004

Using upper air soundings from 12Z, April 2, 2004, construct your own isentropic cross-section from Brownsville, TX to Aberdeen, SD using the following locations for data points. Remember to read potential temperatures off of the Skew-t/Log-P diagrams, not atmospheric temperature.

The vertical coordinate will be pressure, in intervals of 100mb.

Plot potential temperature and mixing ratio at each 100mb for each station, then use scalar analysis to contour the values. For mixing ratio, disregard values above 600mb.

Identify the location of the tropopause on your chart, as well as any fronts that may be present.
