I left town at noon, and arrived in Guymon at 5pm. I drove north towards the Kansas state line and photographed a thunderstorm traveling east, with frequent lightning, and nice mammatus clouds overhead. By 7pm, two large storms were located in the Texas panhandle, and I decided to break from chasing and take a side trip to Colorado to buy beer. One of my favorite breweries, Widmer Brothers from Portland, OR, distributes beer out to New Mexico and Colorado, and because I was within an hour of Colorado, I went for it. I never found my Widmer beer. No one in southeast Colorado carries it. I went all the way to Lamar and still found none. Oh well. South of Dodge City, KS I slept in my truck for a few hours, and I got back to Norman on Sunday, June 16 at 1pm. Photographs: Cloud and lightning photographs soon.
