People: TELEX 2003 Crew
Miles: 280
Time: approx 8:00pm to 3:00am
Drove from Norman to Lawton, then west to about 10 miles west of Snyder. We launched one balloon with New Mexico Tech's instruments attached, meaning that they had to physically track the instruments down on that night. The storm which we launched this balloon into had a tornado warning, but was traveling southeast and so the TELEX crew was not in position to have any encounter with a tornado, if it had one at all. The launch took place at about 1:00am, and we drove back to Lawton to fill up with gas and grab food. From there the ride was fairly uneventful back to Norman.
