The first ‘S’ in BLISS stands for ‘sensing.’ BLISS group members often participate in data collection out in the field. Various observation platforms and field campaigns with which BLISS members work are described here. Click linked field campaign names for data access information.
Platforms
The Collaborative Lower Mobile Profiling System (CLAMPS) is a trailer-based platform which includes a Doppler LiDAR, a microwave radiometer, an Atmospheric Emitted Radiance Interferometer (AERI), and a sounding system. Two CLAMPS systems are operated out of the NWC: OU-NSSL CLAMPS1 and NOAA-NSSL CLAMPS2.
