As I stated in my bio page, I am from Dayton, Ohio. Since Dayton is the
birthplace of aviation, no matter what people from North Carolina may
claim, and since 2003 is the 100 year anniversary of powered flight, there
has been a lot of different events going on in and around Dayton. These
events span a two and a half week period (July 3 - July 20) and are part
of what has come to be known as Inventing Flight. It has actually
been a pretty cool time this summer. I even have a summer job at the
U.S. Air Force museum,so even that has
been pretty special. I will try to post some pictures from any of the events
that I am able to attend.
The three pics on the top row are of President Bush's visit to
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on the 4th of July. One photo is of Air Force
One flying into Dayton and the other two are of the president. He is the tiny
spec wearing a blue shirt at the podium - you just have to trust me. Below
the President are some pictures from the Great Blimp Event (also at
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) on July 12. There are various photos of the
Goodyear, Metlife, and Saturn blimps.
