2007 Multicultural Fest!

Monday, November 12, 2006 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

1st floor atrium, National Weather Center

Sign-up Deadline for dishes will be Friday, Nov. 9th.

Sign-up sheets will soon be found in the SoM main office and the SoM Student Lounge.

Please bring your cuisine to the atrium by 5:45pm to ensure that the events will stay on schedule.

The Student Affairs Committee organizes the Multicultural Festival every fall and was previously held on the 1st floor of the Sarkey's Energy Center. As the School of Meteorology moved into its new home, the Multicultural Festival will start convening in the National Weather Center 1st floor Atrium.

A food contest takes place, and everybody is encouraged to cook/bring some traditional cuisine.

We ask that teams of 1-4 individuals be formed to prepare an ethnic dish of their choice. During the festival, one member from each team briefly describes the dish and its ethnic origin/significance.

A panel of judges awards prizes in the form of gift certificates from locations in Norman for the best tasting dish in the following categories:

  • Entree
  • Side/Salad
  • Dessert

All graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, adjunct faculty, and research scientists in the National Weather Center are invited to participate in the Annual Multicultural Festival, a scrumptuous dinner, cultural exchange and fun!
