SAC Tutor-for-Hire Program

Key Features of the SAC / SoM Tutor-for-Hire Program:

  • Tutors will need to be approved in a course specific manner by the SAC Faculty Adviser before they will be allowed to tutor any student as a part of this program.
  • Tutors will be expected to submit an unofficial transcript for review by the SAC Faculty Adviser. Please note: SAC student members and students needing tutoring assistance will not have access to these transcripts. All applications materials will be processed through the SoM Main Office.
  • Students who use the Tutor-for-Hire Program will be encouraged to provide feedback to SAC on the tutor and tutoring program. This feedback will be provided to future students in need of tutoring. (Personal information will be not be shared.)
  • Tutors will set their own rates. SAC will not define the rate! Additionally, the student and tutor will work out the number of times to meet and where the sessions will take place.
  • Although SAC / SoM will not set the cost of tutoring, SAC encourages that this rate be set in advance of the first tutoring session.

SAC believes that this program is the best solution to the increased demand for quality tutors and the limited number of qualified tutors. As always, SAC encourages students to first approach faculty members and course-specific TAs with course-related questions.
