Due to a lack of significant severe weather (in fact, we had brilliant cobalt-blue skies), today we ventured to the Wichita Mountains west of Lawton, OK.   The Wichitas are about a 90-minute drive from Norman.   We left Norman around noon and got to the mountains around 2 p. m.   We toured, hiked, and rested (hee hee) from 2 until 6.  Then we went to Meers resturant and had a nice dinner.   We returned to Norman around 9:30 p.m.

Here is the route we took there and back.   We headed from Norman (Start) west on Hwy 9 to I44 South to the Wichitas (1).   We ate dinner in Meers (2) and then returned to Norman (End) around 10 p.m.

A prairie dog colony.   They were cute standing up on their back legs and barking.   There were some baby ones, too.   This visit was cut short because Mike's stomach didn't agree with something.   Got some nice video footage though.

Meers Steakhouse in the crossroad town of Meers, OK.   They serve longhorn beef from their own born-and-raised cattle.   It was great.   Mike and Brad had their famous Meers Cheeseburger while Rebecca had a B-B-Q sandwich.   We all enjoyed our meals.   For dessert, we shared peach cobbler and homemade ice cream.
