<u><b>Summary:</u></b><font color="white"> A late start, we just
missed a few interesting things, but this day never lived up to it's
potential.</font color><br>
<u><b>The Chase:</u></b><font color="white"> I had an interview at NSSL
this day, so we got a late start from Norman. We made good time on our
way to Altus and then Hollis. The dryline had not yet fired when we got
to Childress, so we stopped quickly for some fast food and watched the
small cumulus towers bubble a little bit. We headed NW on 287 towards a
cell. It crossed over 287 in front of us a little ways, and we then
realized we were on the wrong side of the dryline. That small cell
intensified as it went NE. We tried to get back close to it by heading
east from Memphis, TX to 83 north. We never did get back into position
on it though. We drove through small drifts of hail in Wellinton, TX.
That pretty much sealed this as a chase that just wasn't going to work
out. We followed it north some, and took I-40 back to Norman catching a
few glimpses of lightning.
