This page is for the analysis section of the Synoptic Test to be completed by 11/8/06.

Here is the four panel plot. Beneath the plot you can find exactly what each panel is representing.

This is a four panel plot for Monday 6 November 2006 at 0000UTC.
The upper left panel shows surface pressure isobars (mb, in black), surface wind barbs (blue, in knots) and the surface pressure falls (mb, in red). Also listed are surface dewpoints greater the 55 degrees F.
The upper right panel shows 850mb parameters. In red are the temperatures (F), in blue are the isotachs (knots) and the dewpoints are shaded in green with a minimum of 40 degrees F listed.
The lower left panel shows the 500mb parameters. In black are the isotachs (knots), in blue are the height changes (decameters), and in red is the vorticity advection (*10^-5 per seconds).
The lower right panel shows the 250mb isotachs (knots) and the wind barbs (knots) for both the 500mb wind (blue) and the 850mb wind (red). The 500-850mb shear can be derived from these barbs.

This is the jet stream map for the same time as the map above. It shows the jet maximums at 250mb. The color scale is given and winds are in knots.
