Before leaving the area, we had to stop by the Salt Lake City weather service forecast office. I enjoyed my conversation with one of the forecasters, Mark, who was working on the "fire weather forecast" for the SLC warning area. It was also neat to see inside a NWS building - this was my first venture into what I term the "nuts and bolts" of US weather forecasting. |

We detoured through Bryce Canyon NP on the way toward the Grand Canyon. This place was absolutely stunning - one day I shall return and spend more than 30 minutes here! |

And one day I'll learn to utilize the 'review' functions of my digital camera ... and then I'll know to re-take the shot when I screw up and get a bit of my finger! But finger and all, this place rocks! |
