More information about me than you probably care to know

I was born March 5, 1975 in Belleville, Kansas, but lived most of my first eighteen years just across the border in Byron, Nebraska with my parents, Larry and Corliss, and my younger brother, Michael. Byron only has a population of 140, so needless to say there wasn't a lot to do when I was growing up.

Even as a kid I was fancinated by storms. My first book ordered through the Weekly Reader inserts was Tornadoes: Killer Storms. I always knew I wanted to go into some sort of science, so when I graduated from Chester-Hubbell-Byron High School in 1993, I decided to go to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in meteorology.

After finishing my Bachelor of Science in 1997, I entered the University of Oklahoma to work on my master's degree. I'm currently working there as a research assistant, and hope to finish my degree by December 1999.

As for my interests, well I don't have too much time for them since graduate students aren't allowed to have any fun. :-) I do enjoy reading, watching movies, and doing cross-stitch. I also recently bought a mountain bike, and while I haven't had much time to use it besides commuting to class, I have enjoyed riding a few singletrack trails in the Oklahoma City area.
